World Bank President, Bob Zoellick, who announced Ezekwesili’s imminent exit in a statement from the Washington DC headquarters of the organisation, highlighted and commended her role in rebranding the bank.

Worried by the frequent demand for functional refineries in the country as a way out of petroleum products’ importation, the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has disclosed that Nigeria will this week sign a formal contract for the planned turn-around maintenance (TAM) of all its traditional refineries with their original builders.

The once lucrative business of fuel smuggling along the Nigeria/Cameroon border in Adamawa and most border towns in Nigeria has been crippled following the recent removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.

Investigation by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) shows that smugglers in the border local government areas of Fufore, Maiha, Michika, Madagali, Mubi North and Mubi South are now switching to other businesses.

After a three-hour meeting, the governors in a two-paragraph communiqué signed by the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, said the governors appreciated the decision to deregulate the oil sector.

Although PPPRA is supposed to give license only to marketers with a national distribution network you see names of companies where u have never seen a filling station in their name. I was a chief risk officer in UBA and in FBN for many years approving loans so I know the name of every big player in every industry that nigerian banks lend to as these are among the biggest banks in the country. I see names on the list I don't recognise either from portfolios I looked at or industry studies over the years. Red alert number 2. 

I won't be able to repeat everything I have said over the past few years on this but in summary;  
 
Fraud like theft thrives not only because of the existence of greed and benefit but of opportunity. Place yourself in the shoes of the average nigerian "businessman" or "entrepreneur"-polite euphemisms for rent seeking parasites.

The Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has assured Nigerians that this time around, removal of fuel subsidy would have a positive impact on their lives. Speaking at the NPAN Town Hall Meeting Thursday, she explained that the subsidy removal would allow for more transparency in the system, adding that it would make the sector attractive to potential investors.

Results from 30 states declared so far showed Jonathan had already won a quarter of the

President Jonathan cleared all the votes in ward 13, unit 039 in his Otuoke, Bayelsa State, country
home where he voted. The presiding officer, Mr. Muyiwa Orojo, announced that the PDP polled 413
to zero votes by other parties.
